Learning Support Assistant (Part Time, TTO)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Learning Support Assistants to join a dedicated Additional Learning Support team.
This role involves supporting students with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, enabling them to access educational opportunities and achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities:
Provide in-class support across practical and theory-based lessons.
Assist teaching staff in meeting the individual needs of students.
Deliver out-of-class support sessions focused on individualised targets.
Help learners develop independent study skills.
Contribute to individual support strategy plans in collaboration with teaching colleagues.
What we''re looking for:
A proactive, resourceful, and learner-focused approach.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students.
Experience supporting young people and/or adults with learning difficulties and disabilities (desirable).
Educated to at least Level 3, with English and maths qualifications.
Some knowledge of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and review procedures (training provided).

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support the organisation of initial/diagnostic assessments and communicate results effectively.
Assist in creating and implementing individual learning plans with clear, achievable targets.
Work with teaching staff to integrate learning support strategies into lessons.
Provide in-class and small group support to facilitate student learning.
Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and share information as needed.
Contribute to careers events, marketing, and admissions activities.
Supervise students on-site and during off-site activities.
Provide personal support to students with disabilities or learning difficulties to enable full participation.
General Responsibilities
Participate actively and flexibly in wider organisational activities, including duty rotas, enrolment, events, and staff/student activities.
Engage in ongoing training and team development to update skills and knowledge.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others, in line with legal obligations.
Be aware of and contribute to organisational health and safety priorities.
Promote and demonstrate commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practices in both employment and service delivery.
Be familiar with safeguarding requirements and comply fully with policies to protect the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Undertake any additional duties or projects as requested by a line manager, following appropriate consultation.
