Senior Engineer

Location: Heathrow Airport

Project: Major Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Scheme

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major infrastructure project at Heathrow Airport. You will be responsible for managing the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of a key package of works, leading a team of engineers and supervisors to ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Working in a live operational airport environment, you will play a key role in coordinating civil, structural, enabling, and infrastructure works while maintaining close collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil and structural works, ensuring safety, quality, programme, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Manage short-term planning and sequencing of works in line with the overall project programme.
• Coordinate day and night shift activities to maximise productivity and programme performance.
• Ensure all permits, RAMS, QA documentation, and compliance requirements are in place.
• Monitor package performance, proactively managing risks, opportunities, and costs.
• Support, coach, and develop engineers and supervisors within the team.
• Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity, and best practice throughout project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering civils, groundworks, structural steel, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong package management experience, including planning, reporting, and budget control.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.

Desirable

• Previous Heathrow Airport or live operational infrastructure experience.
• Knowledge of architectural fit-out, M&E, or systems installation.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM 360, or similar engineering software.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card
• SMSTS
• Full UK Driving Licence

Security RequirementsDue to Heathrow Airport security requirements, candidates must:

• Be eligible to obtain an Airside Pass.
• Provide a fully checkable five-year work history.
• Have no unspent criminal convictions.
• Be able to commute to Heathrow Airport.

Competitive rate of pay. 40 hours a week. Based at Heathrow Airport
