Freelance Quantity Surveyor - Yorkshire
Tier 2 Contractor | Local Authority Infrastructure Projects

Our client, a well-established Tier 2 contractor, is seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a strong pipeline of local authority infrastructure projects across Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor delivering essential civil engineering works throughout the region.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of project finances and contribute to successful project delivery. You will be working across a range of infrastructure schemes, including highways, drainage, and public realm works.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the commercial management of infrastructure projects from start to finish
Prepare and manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and final accounts
Monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flow
Administer NEC contracts and ensure compliance
Identify, assess, and negotiate variations
Produce regular cost reports and forecasts
Build strong working relationships with project teams and local authority clients

Candidate Requirements
Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
