Senior Civil Engineer

Overview
As a civil Engineer, you will be responsible for working independently and carrying out the design, analysis, and management of engineering projects. This role involves working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically sound and compliant projects. This role will provide opportunities for involvement and skill development in client liaison and project management, encompassing both time and budget management.Responsibilities
Undertake preliminary and detailed designs for engineering projectsPrepare technical drawings, specifications, and reportsPerform structural analysis and ensure compliance with engineering standardsAssist in the preparation of fee/tender proposalsCoordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholdersConduct site visits and inspectionsEnsure compliance with design and safety standardsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Contractors and Clients, on projectsManage project timelines, budgets, and communication with stakeholdersProvide technical support to junior and graduate engineersPerson Specification
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited courseA 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or aboveDemonstrate commitment to undertake continuous professional development towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineering statusSkills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English)Ability to work effectively with the Microsoft suite of programs, such as Word, Excel and PowerPointProficiency in design and analysis, and any associated softwareStrong understanding of design codes and standardsGood communication and collaboration skillsAbility to manage tasks and work within deadlinesStrong attention to detail and the ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management SystemsExperience
Minimum 3 years experience in preferably rail-based projectsTemporary works experiencePersonal Attributes
