Ward Manager

OverviewWorking in Amber Unit - Frailty Assessment Unit is both rewarding and impactful. The role allows you to be at the forefront of patient-centered care, working collaboratively with a range of specialists to ensure that frail older adults are assessed holistically, treated effectively and supported through their care transitions.

Responsibilities
As a Ward Manager in a Frailty Assessment Unit (Amber Unit), you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit, ensuring that high standards of patient care are delivered to older adults with complex medical needs. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, healthcare support workers, therapists (Admission Avoidance Team) and doctors, to assess and manage frail patients, often with multiple co-morbidities.
Qualifications / Skills
Strong leadership skills:
the ability to lead a diverse team and drive high-quality care with compassion.
In-depth Clinical Knowledge:
Understanding the complexities of frailty and managing the complex needs of older adults.
Empathy and Communication:
A compassionate, empathetic approach to dealing with patients and families in a sensitive, often emotional environment.
Experience in Acute or Geriatric Care:
Familiarity with frailty assessments, polypharmacy and multi-disciplinary care models.
