If you answered YES, this Behaviour Mentor role could be the perfect opportunity for you!
The Position - Behaviour Mentor
The school is seeking a warm, friendly, and understanding Behaviour Mentor to support a Year 4 pupil within their SEMH provision. The pupil has SEMH and ASD needs and can experience anxiety and emotional dysregulation, so the school is looking for someone who can take a calm, therapeutic, and relationship-based approach. The ideal candidate will be personable, patient, and able to build trust with the pupil while creating a safe space where they feel understood and supported. This role is not heavily focused on punishment or strict discipline. Instead, the school is looking for someone who understands that dysregulated or traumatised children require a different approach, using empathy, consistency, and alternative strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement with learning. The pupil can find it challenging when others have differing opinions, so the successful candidate must be adaptable, emotionally intelligent, and able to approach situations calmly and positively. Experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, anxiety, or trauma-informed practices would be highly beneficial.
