The Communications Officer will support our journey to shift from a service focused on treating illness, to one that is focused on preventing ill health or worsening of ill-health, with more care provided closer to home. The Communications Officer will deliver proactive and integrated communication campaigns. They will contribute to reactive issues, both internally and externally. We are looking for someone who is passionate about good communication and how this can impact health and well-being. They will thrive in a high paced environment.Responsibilities
Deliver content and mechanisms for dialogue between staff across the organisationInfluence behaviour change among staff and the public through communicationProvide the public with clear informationContribute to innovative communication projects and campaigns, write content for different formats, respond to enquiries from staff, journalists and social media users, and make best use of traditional and new mediaJob Details

The Health Board supports bilingualism and welcomes applications from Welsh speakers; Welsh language ability is desirable. Interviews will be held on 30/09/2025.Essential Qualifications and Knowledge
Educated to degree level in a relevant field or equivalent experience in public relations, communications and mediaKnowledge of communications, journalistic practice, public relations and campaigning, including tools and techniques of communication and new mediaKnowledge of health and public sector practices and understanding of local and national political networksDemonstrable CPDDesirable Qualifications
Certified member of Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) or equivalentHigher qualifications in communications, media law or related fields; understanding of Editor''s Code of ConductUnderstanding of Welsh legislation and WG delegated powersKnowledge of communications as an enabler of behavioural changeWorking knowledge of media content and enquiry management systemsExperience
Essential: Previous experience in a communications team and delivering campaigns across internal, external and digital channels; experience creating basic graphic design to communicate messages; basic video shooting and editingDesirable: Experience with NHS or large public sector organisations; more advanced filming, graphic design or marketing skillsLanguage
Desirable: Welsh language ability (Welsh Speaker - Level 1)Other
