UK citizenship is mandatory to be able to clear the background checks and obtain SC clearance.Current valid SC clearance would be an advantage. What the role of the Mechanical Design Engineer entails:Carry out Mechanical Design and proving activities as part of a wider team for prime and variant products, of both piece parts and assemblies.Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems and defects.Support to functional and environmental testing and trials.Liaise with suppliers/purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise.Planning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet project milestones.Gain clarification of and help to generate requirements, including challenging of extraneous requirements to reduce lead time, UPC and design complexity What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Design Engineer:Experience using Creo 3D design toolKnowledge of several of the following:Manufacturing processesTolerance studiesEnvironmental testMass property calculationsMaterial selectionFMEADesign for Manufacture/AssemblyEnvironmental Gasket SealingTooling/fixtures designStructural designDefence Standards This really is a fantastic ..... full job details .....
