Year 2 class teacher Job

This school in Basingstoke is looking for a Year 2 class teacher to join their school from September 2026 for the academic year to cover maternity leave.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Key Stage 1(Year 2) Class Teacher to join our school. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a significant impact on the learning and development of primary school students. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, creating an engaging learning environment, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages students to achieve their full potential.

This is a temporary/contract job starting September 2026 for the academic year. Ideally the school is looking for someone full-time but will consider a part-time job share for the right teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver effective lessons that meet the national curriculum guidelines for Year 2
• Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment.
• Assess and monitor student''s progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
• Develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with specific educational needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student''s overall development.
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience teaching Key Stage 1
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative working style.
