Role Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled English Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. The ideal candidate will have a love for literature and language, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about the English language and literature and wants to help students achieve their potential in this essential subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging English lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5.

  • Develop and implement creative and inclusive lesson plans that foster a love for reading and writing.

  • Support students in their preparation for English exams, assessments, and coursework.

  • Encourage students to explore a wide range of literary genres and themes, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of literature.

  • Help students develop strong writing and communication skills, ensuring they can express themselves clearly and confidently.

  • Provide feedback on student progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and share best practices.

  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as drama productions, book clubs, or school events related to English.

  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment, promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and intellectual curiosity.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject.

  • Strong knowledge of the UK English curriculum and experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5.

  • Passionate about literature and language, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in preparing students for exams and assessments in English is desirable but not essential.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
