A leading UK construction and housing contractor is looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Nottingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a well-established business, working on a range of social housing, refurbishment and regeneration projects across Nottingham and the surrounding area.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work as part of an established commercial team, supporting the delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial aspects of refurbishment and social housing projects.
• Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations and payments.
• Preparing cost reports, forecasts and financial statements.
• Monitoring project costs and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• Managing variations, change control and contractual matters.
• Assisting with monthly applications, valuations and final accounts.
• Working closely with site teams, clients, subcontractors and consultants.
• Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and in accordance with commercial objectives.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Experience across social housing, refurbishment, maintenance, residential or similar sectors.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Experience managing subcontractors and project costs.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• A relevant Quantity Surveying / Construction qualification is desirable.
• The ambition to progress within a growing commercial team.
