About the Client:
Our client is a leading contractor within the UK water industry, delivering critical infrastructure projects across the region. With a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and safety, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team and lead on Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) projects within the Portsmouth Water framework.

The Role:
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of SEMD-related projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality. You will act as the key point of contact for the client, stakeholders, and internal teams, driving performance and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage SEMD projects from initiation through to completion.
• Oversee project planning, programming, and resource allocation.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with the client (Portsmouth Water), stakeholders, and subcontractors.
• Report on project progress, risks, and issues to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practice across all project delivery activities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the water industry (essential).
• Strong knowledge of SEMD (Security and Emergency Measures Direction) projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and costs.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Relevant qualifications in project management or engineering (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent desirable).
