This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a major rail project on an initial 6-month contract.Key Responsibilities:Leading the development of a small team within a major rail projectSupporting and leading assurance on contractor estimatesProducing high-level order of magnitude costs and first principal estimatesWorking across multiple work packages and disciplinesCompleting a full take-off independently, including proficiency in UK measurement methods (RMM1, CESMM4) and estimating softwareUnderstanding indirect costs and other fees in estimatesEngaging with stakeholders such as engineers, clients, and authoritiesReviewing outputs from junior estimators and providing project guidanceWriting basis-of-estimate reports for director reviewBenchmarking outputs against market dataJob Requirements:Experience in estimating within the civil engineering sector, particularly railStrong leadership and team development skillsAdvanced understanding of UK measurement methods and estimating softwareAbility to work on multiple tasks and disciplinesProficiency in producing detailed and high-level estimatesStrong stakeholder engagement capabilitiesAbility to review and guide junior estimators'' outputsExperience in writing comprehensive basis-of-estimate reportsCapability to benchmark against market ..... full job details .....
