Immediate Interim Contract (Permanent Options Considered)
Are you an experienced commercial professional with a strong track record in social housing or regeneration schemes We are urgently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on large-scale planned works and regeneration programmes across Bromley and the wider South East.
This role is ideally suited for an immediate contractor or interim specialist looking for a lucrative day rate, though permanent packages are open for discussion for the right candidate.

Remuneration: £450 – £525 per day (Negotiable based on experience)

Contract Type: Immediate interim/contract preferred (Permanent packages can be discussed)

Location: Based day-to-day at our Hub in West Malling, with projects predominantly across Bromley and Greater London / South East.

Work Pattern & Flexibility: Core hours are 08:00–17:00. We offer genuine flexibility around school runs and reasonable lifestyle requests. You will also have the ability to work from our regional offices (Leverett, Dorking, or Cockney) or on-site as operationally required.

THE MISSION
As our Senior QS, you will take lead commercial management for medium-to-large social housing projects and regeneration schemes. You will provide high-level commercial oversight across multiple blocks and sites while serving as an active mentor to upskill our assistant and intermediate quantity surveyors.
Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Oversight: Lead cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts across multiple social housing blocks and sites.

Problem Solving: Act as the main escalation point for complex commercial issues, delivering pragmatic and practical business solutions.

Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and support the professional development of assistant and intermediate QS staff.

Procurement & Contracts: Oversee subcontract procurement (tendering, evaluation), contract administration, and live risk management.

Stakeholder Management: Directly manage client representatives, Project Managers, subcontractors, and internal senior stakeholders.

Reporting: Take ownership of accurate reporting and commercial forecasting (CVRs).
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Experience: Proven Senior QS experience working within the Social Housing, Regeneration, or Planned Works sectors (Essential).

Commercial Tools: Strong knowledge of Schedules of Rates (SOR), block schedules, and schedules of inclusions. Prior CVR and NHF experience is highly desirable.

Financial Expertise: A proven track record of successfully running valuations, variations, interim payments, and complex final accounts.

Leadership: Experience running or mentoring a small, collaborative commercial team.

Mobility: A full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle for regional site travel.

Compliance: Valid Right to Work in the UK.
DESIRABLE HIGHLIGHTS

Prior experience overseeing high-volume kitchen & bathroom component programmes is a major plus.

Familiarity with local authority or housing association procurement processes.
