Business Development Manager Healthcare Staffing
Location: Leeds City Centre Salary: £50,000-£55,000 + OTE £80,000 | Uncapped Commission
Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven track record ideally in healthcare staffing, healthcare recruitment or social care recruitment?
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious healthcare staffing business in Leeds at an exciting stage of growth. This is a genuine growth role with a clear commercial remit, measurable targets and uncapped commission directly linked to the gross profit you generate.
The business provides staffing solutions to children''s residential homes, supported living and learning disability services, and care homes. With dedicated recruitment, compliance, workforce, payroll and management support already in place, the focus is now on expanding the client base and developing new commercial partnerships.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of new business development, identifying the right organisations, opening senior-level conversations, winning new partnerships and turning those relationships into sustainable, profitable accounts.
You will have direct access to the leadership team and the opportunity to influence commercial strategy, target markets, proposition and approach. This is not a heavily restricted corporate sales environment; good ideas can be acted upon quickly and your contribution will be visible across the business.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a focused new-business strategy.
- Identify and target high-value opportunities across health and social care.
- Build relationships with owners, directors, registered managers, operations leaders and workforce decision-makers.
- Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to signed agreement and first booking.
- Win new care groups, multi-site providers and strategically important accounts.
- Develop new clients into long-term, profitable commercial partnerships.
- Represent the business at meetings, events and industry forums.
- Maintain an accurate and credible sales pipeline through HubSpot.
- Work closely with recruitment and operational teams to ensure client commitments can be delivered.
- Contribute to the development of the company''s commercial proposition and market strategy.
- A proven track record of winning new business ideally within healthcare staffing, healthcare recruitment or social care recruitment.
- Evidence of personally generated business, whether measured through clients won, booked hours, revenue or gross profit.
- A strong understanding of staffing agency models, margins and profitability.
- The ability to develop business from a cold start as well as convert warmer opportunities.
- Confidence dealing with senior decision-makers and leading credible commercial conversations.
- The ability to turn new agreements into active, profitable and sustainable accounts.
- Strong pipeline management, follow-up and forecasting skills.
- A self-motivated approach with genuine ownership of results.
- A strong professional reputation and a commitment to selling a quality service.
