Mott MacDonald .Our Transmission and Distribution Division is recruiting a role to deliver advisory services for the energy sector, specializing in electrical transmission and distribution. The role involves working with our main project team and directly with clients at all levels to examine and assess the technical, economic, and commercial aspects of various energy networks projects.Our clients are located in the UK and internationally. You will be a hands-on consultant contributing to advisory work on electrical infrastructure projects.Work may involve the following
Due diligence of electrical infrastructure including but not limited to electricity transmission and distribution companies, onshore and offshore grid connectionsIdentification of project risks and development of mitigating measures (technical, commercial, financial)Informing financial models of electrical infrastructure assets including technical assumptionsReview and appraisal of capital and operational expenditure plans for electrical infrastructureReview and appraisal of operation and maintenance plans and associated contractsLoss reduction studiesAdvice to support reorganisation and/or acquisition of electrical infrastructure businessesPost financial close construction and operation monitoring servicesPreparation of technical and advisory reportsManaging project work and project teams, retaining and developing relationships with clients, and potentially developing new business opportunitiesThis role can be based in the UK (Brighton, Croydon, Cardiff, Glasgow, Newcastle, Altrincham, Brighton) or in Europe (Belgrade, Madrid or Genova Office).Candidate Specification
Degree qualified Electrical Engineer, preferably with Chartership statusExcellent report writing and communication skillsAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a teamSharp analytical skills and the ability to present quantitative knowledge to non-expertsAbility to meet tight deadlines and produce quick turnover on an often reactive basisWillingness to travel worldwide on short business assignmentsExcellent working ability of MS Office; knowledge of other economic/statistical packages welcomeAbility to work in and lead multi-disciplinary teamsPrevious experience in electrical infrastructure projects as Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Engineer or similar roleAppreciation of transaction finance mechanisms, project risk and mitigation, and the commercial aspects of project work including contract termsProject management experience; proposal experienceEquality, Diversity and Inclusion
