Job Title: Lead Java Developer Rate: £570 (Inside IR35) Duration: 6 months Location: Remote - One day onsite per week in Manchester Clearance: BPSS Stages: 1 Stage Must Have Government Experience Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of Back End services using Java and Spring Boot Architect and build scalable microservices-based solutions Oversee deployment and orchestration of services using Docker containers Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and Front End developers Ensure code quality through best practices, code reviews, and mentoring junior developers Contribute to technical decision-making and system design Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines Ensure solutions align with modern engineering standards and security requirements Technical Skills andamp; Experience: Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot Proven experience building and maintaining microservices architectures Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised deployments Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and Back End service design Experience working in agile development environments Desirable Skills: Working knowledge of JavaScript and Node.js Experience with templating engines such as Nunjucks Exposure to Front End development (basic UI implementation) Familiarity with design systems and accessibility standards (eg, GDS guidelines) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) ..... full job details .....
