Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months experience in care and be compassionate.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers will help with day-to-day care in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff along with other healthcare assistants.

Your duties may include:

Helping patients wash, shower, or dress

Serving food or helping people eat

Making and changing beds

Turning patients to prevent pressure sores

Talking to patients to reduce anxiety

Helping patients move around

Assisting with toileting needs

Maintaining cleanliness of wards or homes

Managing supplies and equipment

Work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may participate in induction training for new healthcare assistants.
