Project Manager - Civil Engineering / Geotechnical | Sizewell C

Sizewell C, Suffolk | Up to -60,000 + Company Vehicle or -6,300 Annual Cash Allowance | Permanent

We''re looking for an experienced Project Manager with a Civil Engineering or Geotechnical background to join a specialist team working on the Sizewell C nuclear new-build project in Suffolk.

This is a long-term opportunity, with the project currently expected to run for 6-7 years, with the potential to continue beyond this.

The role would suit someone who has experience managing construction, engineering or site-based projects and is confident managing subcontractors, programmes, costs and project delivery.

We''re particularly interested in people with a strong Civil Engineering or Geotechnical background who are keen to learn, develop and build their knowledge within a specialist nuclear and energy environment.

You won''t be expected to know everything from day one. We''re looking for someone with the right technical and project management background who is willing to learn and develop.

As Project Manager, you''ll take responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of work packages across the Sizewell C project.

Your role will include:

• Managing projects and work packages from planning through to completion.
• Leading site teams, engineers and subcontractors.
• Managing programmes, resources, costs and deadlines.
• Working closely with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitoring progress and providing regular reports.
• Identifying risks and resolving issues.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.
• Supporting commercial activities, variations and change control.
• Working with technical and design teams on project delivery.
• Ensuring all work meets the required health, safety and environmental standards.

The projects will cover areas including dewatering, water treatment, pumping systems, geotechnical works, water abstraction, instrumentation and monitoring and temporary works.

You won''t need experience across all of these areas, but a strong Civil Engineering or Geotechnical background is essential.

We''re looking for someone with:

• At least 5 years'' Project Management experience, with strong experience managing construction or engineering projects.
• A Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering background - essential.
• Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience working on construction, infrastructure or engineering projects.
• A proactive approach and the ability to solve problems.
• A genuine interest in learning and developing within the nuclear and energy sector.

Previous experience on major infrastructure, nuclear or energy projects would be an advantage but isn''t essential.

You''ll also need:

• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Valid CSCS card.
• SMSTS.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Permanent right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
• Ability to obtain the required security clearance for the Sizewell C site.

• Up to -60,000 salary
• Company vehicle with personal use (monthly rental value of -600) OR -6,300 annual cash allowance (-525 per month) to source your own WJ-approved vehicle for business use.
• Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
• 6-7 year major project, with potential to continue beyond this.
