A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newbury is looking for a caring and motivated Mental Health Assistant to join its specialist support team, working with pupils with a range of SEN and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to gain practical experience within a school environment while working alongside experienced teachers, SEN professionals and specialist support staff.
The Role
As a Mental Health Assistant, you''ll support pupils across the primary age range who may experience:
- Autism and ADHD
- Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
- Trauma-related behaviours
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Barriers to learning and social development
You''ll help pupils understand and manage their emotions, build confidence, develop positive relationships and engage more successfully with school life.
