The role focuses on shaping the electrical functions throughout the lifecycle of projects, from concept design to commissioning, with emphasis on delivering robust electrical design and integration across teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of electrical engineering on projects. You will work with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution systems, Cabling, Instrumentation, Industrial Networks, PLCs and SCADA. Systems will be both new technology and existing legacy installations.

Provide design support and guidance for schemes to ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.

Maintain broad knowledge of industry standards and legislation.

Challenge Client specifications and present/defend solutions to complex problems.

Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.

Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews across teams.

Manage interfaces and integration of the design with other disciplines and produce documentation.

Engage with other engineers, specialists, clients and project team members to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions through design, construction and beyond.

Supervise and mentor Graduates and Engineers to develop knowledge and skills.

Engage with the client to manage relationships and support them in achieving their aims.

Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.

What you''ll need

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Chartered member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience.

Experience with water or wastewater, non-infrastructure or infrastructure projects.

Experience delivering high-quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.

Effective communication with team members and stakeholders.

Methodical problem-solving approach.

Proactive and pragmatic approach.

Ability to deliver results within short timeframes, prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.

Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
