Head of Civil & Structural 

Bolton - Chorley - Lancashire

Work structure - Office / Hybrid / Site travel. The next Head of Civil & Structural will have some overnight occasional UK travel commitments 

Company 

An Engineering and Projects Delivery business specialising in the design, installation, management and consultancy. Experts in complex large scale engineering environments such as mining, ports, material handling, tunnelling, rail etc. Project locations are UK and global.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Civil & Structural Engineering is responsible for the delivery of Civil & Structural engineering across projects, studies, and bids. This includes ensuring designs meet the highest standards with regards to safety, code compliance, scope alignment, quality, cost, and on-time delivery. This is a functional role with management and occasional customer facing responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BEng (Hons) in Engineering (Civil or Structural)
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng, preferably ICE or IStructE)
  • Strong experience in a Civil / Structural engineering field.
  • Knowledge of the construction & process industries and applicable standards.
  • Ability to use structural analytical software unaided (STAAD Pro or TEKLA Structures preferred). IDEA Statica is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret Site Investigation reports and identify civil implications.
