Senior Manager - Electrical Design Engineering

Our client, a growing building services consultancy, is seeking a Senior Manager or Associate Director to lead the Electrical Design Engineering function. This is a senior leadership role with accountability for delivering high-quality electrical engineering across projects, mentoring engineers, and shaping the strategic direction of the business.What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic and Technical Leadership

Lead electrical engineering services across diverse commercial and residential projects.Serve as the technical authority and trusted client partner throughout the project lifecycle.Contribute to business development, bids, and strategic planning.

Design and Compliance

Oversee electrical designs covering power distribution, lighting, control systems, and specialist systems.Ensure designs meet UK regulations and best practices (IET Wiring Regs, CDM, CIBSE, BSRIA).Produce and review schematic and layout drawings (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, etc.).Carry out site surveys and prepare detailed reports.Lead, mentor, and inspire the electrical design team; support the professional growth of engineers at all levels.Collaborate closely with project managers and multi-disciplinary teams.

Commercial Management

Oversee project scopes, budgets, and resources.Monitor profitability, productivity, and timely delivery.

Client Engagement

Present technical solutions with confidence.Build lasting relationships with clients, developers, architects, and contractors.

What We’re Looking For

Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (Master’s preferred).Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IET or equivalent.12–15+ years’ experience in building services, with 5+ years in senior leadership.Strong technical expertise in UK electrical systems.Proven track record in managing teams and delivering complex projects.Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, and industry-standard tools.Why Join Us
