We are looking for an experienced and proactive Internal Recruiter to join our growing supported living organisation in Birmingham.

This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for attracting, screening and recruiting high-quality Support Workers across our supported living services.

Previous experience specifically recruiting Support Workers is essential for this position. We are looking for someone who understands the challenges of recruiting within the care and support sector and knows how to identify candidates who have the right skills, values and attitude to work with the people we support.

You will work closely with Registered Managers, Service Managers and the wider operational team to ensure vacancies are filled efficiently while maintaining high standards of safer recruitment and candidate quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for Support Workers and other operational care roles.
• Work closely with Service and Registered Managers to understand staffing requirements and recruitment priorities.
• Create and post engaging job adverts designed to attract experienced and suitable Support Worker candidates.
• Proactively source candidates through job boards, social media, recruitment platforms and other channels.
• Review applications and shortlist candidates against role requirements.
• Conduct telephone and video screening interviews with prospective Support Workers.
• Assess candidates'' experience, suitability, values and motivation for working in supported living.
• Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and provide feedback throughout the recruitment process.
• Maintain regular communication with candidates to provide a positive recruitment experience.
• Coordinate and monitor pre-employment checks, including right-to-work checks, references and other relevant compliance requirements.
• Ensure recruitment activity follows safer recruitment practices and internal policies.
• Maintain accurate recruitment records and candidate information.
• Manage multiple vacancies across different supported living services and locations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers.
• Develop proactive recruitment campaigns for hard-to-fill Support Worker vacancies.
• Monitor recruitment activity and identify opportunities to improve candidate attraction, conversion and retention.

Essential experience and skills

You must have previous experience recruiting Support Workers.

• A strong understanding of what makes a suitable Support Worker candidate.
• Experience managing high-volume or multiple Support Worker vacancies.

• Experience using job boards and proactive candidate-sourcing methods.
• A good understanding of safer recruitment and pre-employment checks.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence working with managers and challenging recruitment requirements where necessary.
• A proactive approach to recruitment rather than relying solely on applications.

Who we''re looking for

This role would suit an experienced Care Recruiter, Support Worker Recruiter, Internal Recruiter or Recruitment Consultant who has previously recruited Support Workers and understands the realities of recruiting within the supported living sector.

You should be confident identifying suitable candidates, asking the right questions during screening and recognising the difference between simply filling a vacancy and recruiting someone who is genuinely suited to supporting vulnerable adults.
