The Primary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Reception-aged pupil with autism in an inclusive primary school in Southwark. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on a young child''s early educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the learning and development of a Reception-aged pupil with autism
• Deliver tailored support in line with the pupil''s individual education plan (IEP)
• Promote social, emotional, and communication development through structured play and consistent routines
• Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment
• Assist with personal care if required

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working in an Early Years setting
• A genuine passion for supporting young children with autism and additional needs
• Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to learning
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or special educational needs (e.g. CACHE Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent) is desirable
• Experience with PECS, Makaton, or other communication strategies is a plus
