North West and Scotland
and we’re looking for committed
ECAs and EMT1s
to join our team. This isn’t the usual frontline ambulance role. The majority of our current requirement is
repatriation work , supporting patients to get home or transfer to hospital from
air ambulances and commercial flights
into airports across the North of England and Scotland. It’s rewarding, varied, and offers a refreshing change of pace from 999 frontline work, while still drawing on your clinical skills and professionalism. We also have opportunities across our
Event Medical Services .
Enhanced Pay for Repatriations
– All repatriation shifts are paid at
time and a half of your base rate .
Competitive Pay
- Pay rates from
£13.78
per hour, depending on contract.
Flexible but Committed
- We ask for a minimum of
4 shifts per month
to ensure consistency and cover as demand grows.

Role Overview
Undertake patient transfers and repatriations, ensuring safe, compassionate, and professional care throughout the journey.
Deliver care within your scope of practice, maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and communication.
Work flexibly as part of a dynamic team, often responding to last-minute scheduling needs.
Completion of all required documentation for each journey.
Uphold our values of professionalism, confidentiality, and patient-centred care.
Maintain statutory and mandatory CPD requirements as part of the role.
Responsibilities SummaryAs part of your role, you will be expected to:
Undertake the full range of
Emergency Ambulance Crew duties
in line with Lifeline Medical Services policies.
Work strictly within your
scope of practice
as defined by Lifeline Medical Services.
Manage and administer medications
in accordance with our Medication Management Policy.
Record baseline
observations
and communicate findings to the lead clinician.
Provide
basic airway management
(including OPAs) and assist with advanced airway care.
Safely use
AEDs, immobilisation equipment, lifting aids, and communications equipment .
Ensure the
health, safety, and welfare
of patients and colleagues at all times.
Be aware of
safeguarding issues
and follow reporting procedures.
Complete
vehicle daily inspections
and ensure operational readiness.
Maintain vehicles, equipment, and stations in line with the
Infection Prevention and Control Policy .
Ensure accurate, legible, and timely
completion of patient and incident records
in accordance with Caldicott principles, legislation, and information governance.
Drive vehicles
you are trained and authorised to operate, under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.
Communicate effectively, adapting your style to overcome barriers with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other professionals.
Complete
mandatory training and CPD , ensuring professional competence is maintained.
At all times demonstrate the highest standards of
personal and professional conduct .
What you’ll need
Qualified
Emergency Care Assistant, EMT1, or FREC 4 (or equivalent recognised qualification) .
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility and reliability – especially for short-notice work.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
A caring, professional attitude and commitment to patient wellbeing.
Full UK Driving Licence with
C1 entitlement
(max 6 points).
Emergency Driving Qualification (IHCD or Level 3 CERAD).
Previous frontline emergency ambulance experience.
Flexibility to work different shift types.
Additional Information
Base Location
- Most work starts and finishes from our
Warwick Bridge base near Carlisle .
Shift Lengths
- Typically
7–12 hours , with a
minimum of 4 hours paid
per shift.
Uniform and Equipment
- All uniform, equipment, and medication are provided.
Driving Requirements
- CERAD training is preferable but
no C1 licence or CERAD qualification is required
for this role.
