OverviewThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations leader to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. The role would suit someone with a background in electro-mechanical or high-tech manufacturing, confident in managing cross-functional teams and driving improvements across production, supply chain, and quality.

The position is primarily site-based, with responsibility for overseeing day-to-day operations while also driving continuous improvement and long-term strategic goals. You''ll work closely with department managers to ensure efficiency, safety, and high-quality delivery of products and services.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate activities across production, supply chain, and quality.

Work closely with production teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products, from machining to assembly and testing.

Own and deliver operational KPIs, ensuring accurate reporting and actionable insights.

Drive stock and inventory management strategies to support efficient production and cost control.

Support quality initiatives and ensure systems, documentation, and processes align with industry standards.

Oversee the transition of new products from development into manufacturing.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and safety.

Manage facilities and site maintenance to ensure a safe and effective working environment.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The Candidate

Proven experience in an operations role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, electronic and mechanical assembly, and product testing.

Collaborative leadership style with a track record of managing cross-functional teams.

Hands-on experience with ISO9001 or similar quality systems.

Strong background in operational KPIs, lean initiatives, and process improvement.

Experience with ERP systems and stock/materials management.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

HND or a degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
