The Business Information Analyst will develop analytical solutions that turn data into knowledge. They will work with the Catapult’s Business Systems and Microsoft Fabric to create reports, dashboards and data analysis. Key tasks include:Extract, transform and combine data from multiple sources to create an effective insight layerDesign, build and deploy BI solutions within Business Systems and Microsoft FabricWork with the Business Systems Manager and decision makers to identify their requirements for business performance reports and dashboards and translate those into technical specificationsEnsure that all regular business reports and dashboards are available for the relevant teams to review within the agreed timescalesWork with the business to develop and improve business performance reportsIdentify shortfalls in data quality and completeness and make suggestions for rectifying and streamlining reporting processesEvaluate and improve existing BIDevelop and update technical documentationRequirements

Microsoft Power BI, Fabric or other data platform qualifications desirable; ideally PL-300 and/or DP-600Proven experience within a similar role and environmentExperience of Microsoft Fabric, Fabric Workspaces and setting up Fabric DataflowsSolid Microsoft Power BI experience essential, using Power Query and DAX expressionsKnowledge of SQL language; setting up SQL views in Fabric Data WarehouseExperience of creating reports with multiple data sourcesExperience of working with a wide range of stakeholders to understand the business and its reporting requirementsAbility to interpret management information requirements and propose and create dashboard visualisationsAbility to build interactive dashboardsIn-depth understanding of database management systemsDeveloping Fabric services offered through software and technical enhancementsExcellent MS Excel knowledgeExperience working with Dynamics 365 Sales, Dataverse and/or Microsoft Azure is desirable, but not essentialOther information
