SEN Teaching Assistant (Mainstream Primary)
Location: WF9, Wakefield
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Rate: -90 - -110 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
About the Role
Prospero Teaching is working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in WF9 seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language Needs, and SEMH.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Support learning, engagement, and classroom participation.
- Assist the class teacher with tailored interventions and activities.
- Promote positive behaviour, social development, and independence.
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to support pupil progress.
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
To Be Eligible
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Two professional child-related references.
