The role: English Teacher
- Full teaching responsibility for delivering English up to GCSE level
- Form tutor responsibility for 5 pupils delivering PSHE
- Providing engaging and relatable lessons that chime with students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs to encourage them to access learning in and out of the classroom
- Implement behaviour support strategies under the guidance of the SLT and pastoral team
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a consistent and trusted adult
- Work to develop students'' emotional literacy, resilience, and social skills
- Collaborate with TAs, therapy teams, parents/carers, and external agencies to provide holistic support
The Ideal English Teacher
We welcome applications from individuals who:
- Hold QTS or QTLS or have a pathway to achieving this within 12 months
- Have experience teaching English in a UK setting up to GCSE level
- Have experience working with children or young people with behavioural and emotional needs (school-based experience desirable)
- Are calm, patient, and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Are resilient, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development
- Understand the importance of inclusion and safeguarding in education
