Learning Support Assistant - Secondary SEN School - Lewisham - September Start

Location: Lewisham, South East London

Daily Rate: -85 - -100 per day (depending on experience)
School Type: Secondary SEN School (KS3 - KS4)

Remedy Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary SEN school in Lewisham, seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team this September. The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of complex needs including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and associated learning difficulties.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting vulnerable young people to thrive in a structured, therapeutic learning environment.

• Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both in and out of class

• Assist with academic learning, emotional regulation, and social development

• Help implement personalised learning plans and EHCP targets

• Promote a calm, consistent, and positive approach to behaviour

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, SENCOs, and other staff

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly in a secondary school setting

• Strong understanding of SEMH, ASD, and additional needs

• Patient, empathetic, and confident in managing challenging behaviour

• Able to build trust and rapport with students who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education

• A team player with excellent communication skills

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

• Right to work in the UK

• Relevant experience in education, youth work, support work or care (essential)

• Training in Team Teach, MAPA or similar (desirable but not essential)
