Richmond Borough Mind is a vibrant local charity that has been supporting and providing services for adults affected by mental health problems and their carers for over 60 years. We are excited to be looking for a Young Adults Peer Support Worker. You will have your own lived experience of mental ill health and be able to use this experience as well as your professional skills and knowledge, to support others. With the expansion of our work in this area we aim to reduce waiting times, reduce the number of people going into crisis, address inequalities and support transitions from youth to adult services. We will be offering holistic and personalised care and support to service users and carers. This role will carry caseload and deliver a range of support and person-centred interventions to meet these needs, which could include group support, one-to-one interventions and signposting where specialist advice is needed. Referrals could be young adults, careleavers, people currently under adult mental health services, or carers supporting people in the community. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about motivating and coaching individuals with mental health issues, and able to support people on their journey to recovery. As well as having an empathy with the core values of RB Mind, the successful applicants will have the skills to provide person-centred support, through one-to-one sessions and through facilitating groups.
