Overview

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to manage defined expenditure categories and run procurement processes to deliver a portfolio of contracts. The successful candidate will support the Procurement Business Partner to manage strategic and operational procurement activities to deliver against business objectives and associated deadlines. They will deputise in the absence of the Procurement Business Partner and provide procurement category support and advice to the shared service, liaising with business leads within the Trusts to ensure compliance across the spend portfolio. The closing date is 16 October 2025.Main duties of the job

Take responsibility and work autonomously for the procurement of defined categories of expenditure by delivering a portfolio of contracts.Support the Procurement Business Partner as directed (and deputise in their absence) in the management of procurement and operational activities aligned to business objectives and timescales.Be the lead specialist for specific procurement categories and provide advice to the procurement team; liaise with business leads within the Trust to ensure compliance with approved standardised products and rationalise catalogue items to an optimum level.Support the delivery of an efficient and effective procurement and contracting service to meet customer requirements, ensuring best value for all aspects of the Trusts business and promote this service to all users.Lead on a key area of strategic delivery to support achieving and maintaining the Commercial Continuous Improvement Assessment Framework.About us

Must have

the Diploma in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS Level 4) or equivalent relevant experience. The candidate must prove evidence of PSR, PCR 2015 and knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 in a working environment.Probation and starting with us

This post will be subject to a probationary period. New starters join on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training and equipment allocation. This post attracts a supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714 and maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part-time).Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the Procurement Business Partner to manage strategic and operational procurement activities to deliver against business objectives and deadlines. They will deputise in the absence of the Procurement Business Partner, provide category support, liaise with business leads to ensure spend portfolio compliance, and promote an efficient procurement and contracting service to meet customer requirements and achieve best value. They will contribute to NHS Procurement and Commercial Standards accreditation by leading on a key area of strategic delivery.
