Nursery Chef/CooK
Purpose of post As an experienced Nursery Chef/Cook you must be organised, efficient and be able to manage the diverse catering requirements effectively; ensure conformance to all food handling, environmental and health regulations. You will work in consultation with the Nursery Manager, be responsible for the planning and provision of healthy and tasty meals for children under 5 years old, making sure each meal is age appropriate while working with fresh ingredients, taking account of any special dietary requirements. You must also be able to meet all the different dietary requirements, and be aware of the various cultural events during the year which may require additional planning and preparation of special meals. Qualifications L2 Food and Hygiene certifciate Level 2 NVQ Food Processing and Cooking With Experience and Skills in: Experienced in busy kitchens Honest, Punctual and reliable Highly creative Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Works well under pressure The ability to follow verbal and written instructions Team player Strong communication skills Healthy and Nutritious menus Duties and Respnsibilities: Catering for 42 nursery children aged 6 weeks to 5 years With Nursery manager prepare Spring, Summer and Winter menu, home made healthy foods Follow a four weekly menu system cooking from fresh produce and you may be required to provide meals for specific dietary requirements To identify and follow the best practice within the ..... full job details .....
