Senior Manager - Global Compliance and Reporting

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Newcastle based Senior Manager to join our thriving team. You will work closely primarily with our London and India teams, with opportunities to support our wider teams in Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary and France. You will have day-to-day contact with senior team members at our clients and gain experience across services.Responsibilities
Work with the Partner group to provide senior support to large pursuit and proposal activities, in response to client RFPs. This includes leading global pricing exercises, involvement in strategic negotiation and being part of EY\''s presentation team at client pitches.Support development of the client business "case for change".Identify opportunities for additional EY services and/or extensions to EY outsourcing services for existing EY clients.Own and drive your own sales pipeline across mid-sized/smaller pursuits.Contract management: Manage a number of large global compliance contracts, with client interface and in a supervisory service delivery role; proactively manage service delivery risk across those contracts through strong governance and escalation processes; develop and maintain relationships with key contract stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions; manage contract governance including adherence to agreed quality and risk processes; manage contract reporting against SLAs/KPIs; provide guidance and support to peers, colleagues and clients on contractual issues; oversee local fee and scope negotiations; set clear objectives and expectations for junior team members including day-to-day responsibility for the management of offshore team members.Finance: Review budgets and resourcing requirements regularly with responsibility for meeting margin targets across engagements; lead the billing and cash collection process across your portfolio.Quality and Risk Management: Support the Engagement Partner on all Quality and Risk Management matters, overseeing implementation and adherence to processes, liaising with Global and Tax QRM and legal teams; maintain the specified contractual framework and supporting agreements for all engagements.Detailed scoping and process assessments: Manage changes to scope and fee impact including leading client/internal negotiations; review and suggest improvements to compliance and reporting processes.Compliance methodology: Share successful tools and approaches with team members; project manage business development projects.Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs; negotiation skills; process design skills; business development skills; effective time management; coaching and developing more junior staff; deliver quality work and lead delivery teams; adaptable and innovative with a focus on problem solving.Qualifications
A degree level qualification or equivalent.A proven work record in a similar environment.Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.Excellent MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint capability.Language skills: Business English as well as German; to support future opportunities in France long-term French speaking skills preferable.Experience in Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax or accountancy from a professional services firm or in-house team.ACA / CA / ATTI / CTA / Tax Inspectors or a breadth of knowledge equivalent to a tax specialist qualification is not essential but welcome.Proven project management skills; ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor budgets. A PRINCE2 qualification or similar would be beneficial.Experience of managing international projects.Experience in process and technology design is beneficial but not mandatory.Proficient multi-tasking ability; ability to coach more junior team members and add value to the team; experience with managing teams across multiple jurisdictions; strong presentation skills and experience in developing and delivering major proposals to clients and targets; strong client management skills; commercial mindset.What we look for
