Teaching Assistant, South Birmingham, ASAP Start
Teaching Assistant required to provide 1-2-1 support to Key Stage 4 students with SEMH needs at a specialist school in South Birmingham. Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity? Do you have experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs or challenging behaviour? This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support and help students overcome barriers to education.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1-2-1 support to KS4 students, helping them access learning, manage their behaviour and remain engaged throughout the school day. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to provide consistent and personalised support.

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with young people with SEMH needs would be highly desirable. The successful Teaching Assistant will be calm, patient and resilient, with the confidence to build positive relationships and manage challenging situations.

Job Role:

• Providing 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant support to KS4 students.
• Supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Helping students access lessons and engage with learning.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with students.
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Helping students overcome barriers to education.
• Supporting a safe, structured and positive learning environment.
