Our client, an independent contract caterer, is seeking a Sous Chef to join their school catering team, serving up to 200 students.

In this role, the successful candidate will support the kitchen in delivering fresh, nutritious meals for break and lunch service, along with occasional hospitality events. Working with seasonal ingredients, they will produce high-quality, home-cooked food while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, organisation, and kitchen efficiency.

This position is ideal for a passionate chef who enjoys working with fresh produce and is looking for a strong work-life balance through a structured term-time schedule.

Rota:

• Sunday 08:00 - 17:00
• Monday 11:00 - 19:00
• Tuesday - Off
• Wednesday 08:00 - 15:00
• Thursday 08:00 - 16:00
• Friday 06:00 - 14:00
• Saturday - Off

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
• Passion for fresh, seasonal food and quality ingredients
• Ideally NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to support kitchen operations and work effectively within a team
• Experience preparing food for high-volume service
