A client within the Public Sector, based in North Yorkshire, is currently recruiting for a Building Control Surveyor to join their Planning Team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, and the ideal candidate should have experience working within a local authority in a Building Control environment. The Role Key purpose of the role:Support the Building Control Service and Management Team in effectively delivering the Building Control function across North Yorkshire.Undertake technical assessments, inspections, and enforcement to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.Assist in managing caseloads for various developments, ensuring buildings meet regulatory standards in health, safety, sustainability, and design.Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Assessing Building Regulation applications, enforcing compliance, and recommending approval or rejection within statutory timeframes.Conducting site inspections and ensuring construction meets building codes and regulations.Investigating and managing reports of dangerous structures, demolitions, and unauthorized works.Initiating and assisting with enforcement actions under the Building Act 1984.Providing professional guidance and technical support to stakeholders, including contractors, statutory agencies, and the public.Supporting out-of-hours emergency responses related to dangerous structures.The Candidate To be considered for this role, ..... full job details .....
