Working across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial property, retail, energy and the public sector, you''ll be involved in some of the UK''s most interesting and high-profile schemes, while working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams.

The role would suit someone who combines strong technical Building Surveying expertise with commercial awareness, leadership capability and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.

The role
You''ll take a leading role across a broad range of Building Surveying commissions, including:

  • Delivering professional Building Surveying services from feasibility through to project completion.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work, estimates and tender documentation.
  • Managing refurbishment, improvement and modernisation projects.
  • Administering contracts using standard forms including JCT and NEC.
  • Managing and developing key client relationships, identifying opportunities and supporting business growth.
  • Preparing and contributing to bids and proposals to help win new work.
  • Providing leadership and support to multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Line managing and developing junior members of the Building Surveying team.
  • Mentoring Building Surveyors and supporting APC candidates through their professional development.
  • Working closely with senior management on the continued growth and development of the Building Surveying team.

About you
They''re looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who can combine technical delivery with strong leadership and commercial understanding.

You''ll ideally have:

  • MRICS qualification with significant post-qualification Building Surveying experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge across professional and project Building Surveying.
  • Experience delivering refurbishment, maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering a high-quality service.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of profitability and business development.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or developing junior surveyors.
  • Previous line management experience would be advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and time-management skills.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of projects, clients and team development.

Why consider it?
This is a role with genuine scope to make an impact - not only through the projects you''ll deliver, but through the clients you''ll develop and the people you''ll help progress.

For the right Chartered Building Surveyor, it offers a clear opportunity to step into a senior leadership position within a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary consultancy with an established presence across the UK.
