Children''s Support Worker - Residential Home (Stevenage)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are looking for caring, resilient, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Children''s Support Workers in our residential home in Stevenage.

You will be supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs, including challenging behaviours such as biting, kicking, or slapping. Support is provided on a 4:1 and 3:1 basis, ensuring both safety and high-quality care.

This is a night shift position (8pm - 8am), working 36 hours per week on a rota basis, including alternate weekends.

As a Children''s Support Worker, your duties will include:

• Providing emotional, social, and physical support to children and young people during the night

• Managing challenging behaviours calmly and confidently, ensuring safety at all times

• Following personalised care plans and routines

• Encouraging independence and positive behaviour through consistent support

• Working collaboratively as part of a team to maintain a safe and nurturing environment

• Recording and reporting incidents, observations, and progress accurately

• Supporting with bedtime routines, night-time care needs, and morning transitions

• A compassionate and patient approach

• Resilience and confidence in managing challenging behaviour

• Reliability and flexibility to work on a rota basis (including alternate weekends)

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to reach their potential
