Start date: April 2025 About the roleDo you have a passion for supporting children who require help managing their emotions?Are you interested in making a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds?Vision for Education are looking to appoint a PRU Teaching Assistant to work in Pupil Referral Units and Alternative Provisions in and around Stockton-on-Tees. You will be required to support in classes, assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and dealing with behavioural issues.Pupils are all aged 11-16 with EHCPs for Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, as well as associated needs such as Autism.You will need to build strong relationships with pupils quickly based on fun, honesty, consistency, positive re-reinforcement and respect.There are opportunities for the role to become permanent with the school after a qualifying period. About the school The schools we work with offer broad curriculums based on children s'' needs and interests, including opportunities for vocational learning.Lessons take place in small groups of no more than 8 pupils.Pupils are all permanently excluded or at high risk of permanent exclusion from their mainstream school however many successfully re-engage in mainstream or gain academic success within the provision.Some pupils can display verbal or physical challenging behaviours so any PRU Teaching Assistant in this role will need strong ..... full job details .....
