GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to make a lasting impact within a thriving Design Technology department.

As a Design Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging creativity, innovation, and technical excellence. You will play a key role in developing students'' confidence, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of design processes while maintaining high standards of achievement and behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Inspire students through engaging practical and theoretical learning experiences
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing effective feedback and support
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and achievement
• Prepare students for examinations and coursework requirements
• Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
• Promote positive behaviour, high expectations, and a passion for Design Technology

Requirements:

• Experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge across Design Technology disciplines
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities
• Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and educational excellence
• ECTs are encouraged to apply
