University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an experienced academic to deliver specialist teaching and academic guidance to students on the BA Theatre and Performance Design course. The role is based at Wimbledon College of Arts and focuses on set and costume design, equipping students with practical and conceptual skills for work in live events, contemporary theatre and performance design.The opportunityAs a Lecturer, you’ll be responsible for teaching and ongoing scholarship on the course and across the programme. You’ll plan and deliver teaching and assessment that encourages student learning and development. You’ll liaise with the course team to ensure teaching and learning opportunities meet an appropriate standard and quality, and assist with the coordination of visiting lecturers for specified units on the course.About youYou’ll possess an undergraduate degree in a subject relevant to theatre design. A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area is desirable, or equivalent experience demonstrated through professional practice.You’ll bring expert knowledge and experience of contemporary theatre and performance design practices, especially digital practices, and knowledge of current discourses within theatre design.You’ll have knowledge and experience of theatre/performance design within an industry and research context, with specific competencies in digital drafting and related software platforms.We are UALUAL generates and inspires the creativity the world needs for a better future.
