Senior Quantity Surveyor
This is a genuinely varied Senior Quantity Surveyor role with a well-established principal contractor operating across some of the most interesting non-residential sectors in UK construction. The business forms part of a wider group covering construction, M&E, flooring and energy solutions, and works nationally across roadside retail, petroleum, education, healthcare, commercial, retail and custodial sectors for clients including major fuel operators, NHS trusts, blue chip retailers and government departments.
This role has been created to take ownership of the commercial management function and lead a junior QS team. The MD is currently the first point of contact for every QS in the business and needs someone thoughtful, organised and methodical to head this up and pull the commercial team together. You will take direct responsibility for CVRs, cost reporting and the day-to-day commercial oversight of live projects, while mentoring and developing the wider commercial team.
The business is looking for someone with the right mindset. Measured, structured and commercially astute, rather than heavily contractual. You will get proper autonomy, direct access to leadership and a role where good performance is genuinely recognised.
