The successful candidate must demonstrate a solid understanding of policy wordings, regulatory requirements, and negotiation tactics in handling commercial insurance claims. Insurance Claims Handler - Key dutiesHandle a range of claims classes, including: Commercial Property (core) Motor/Fleet Employers'' Liability Public Liability Operate within Delegated Authority limits: Typically up to £10,000 independently Up to £100,000 with adjuster involvement. Non-delegated claims handled up to £50,000 Accurately interpret and apply policy terms, endorsements, and exclusions. Negotiate liability and quantum with insurers, loss adjusters, and solicitors. Maintain meticulous records in line with FCA, GDPR, and internal audit standards. Escalate complex or contentious claims to the appropriate internal or external authority. Review and forward supporting documentation promptly (invoices, repair estimates, legal correspondence). Monitor outstanding items and manage claims diaries actively.
