A successful manufacturing engineering business require a Buyer to join their Procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring material availability, maintaining supplier relationships and supporting the efficient flow of materials across the business. The role will require use of MRP/ERP and MS Excel (proficiency with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and formulas preferred). The Buyer will join a large and supportive procurement team enjoying a period of growth. Procurement activity will focus on direct commodity areas for manufacturing. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, so the Buyer will collaborate closely with the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply to achieve production schedules. Key Responsibilities of the Buyer include:Raise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP demand.Monitor supplier performance and expedite deliveries where required.Build strong supplier relationships and support capacity planning.Maintain ERP/MRP master data including lead times and batch sizes.Resolve supply, delivery, invoicing and documentation issues.Coordinate subcontract material movements and supplier activities.Collaborate with Planning, Logistics, Engineering and Quality teams to drive supply chain performance.
