Headway Recruitment is recruiting a Business Development Executive for an established and growing specialist in commercial vehicle safety systems and fleet technology.
  
With a strong customer base, experienced technical teams and an expanding offering that includes telematics, the business helps commercial fleet operators improve safety, compliance and operational performance. Its combination of products, installation and ongoing support creates opportunities to build valuable, lasting customer relationships.
  
As Business Development Executive, you will play an active part in the next stage of growth, opening doors, developing your territory and turning opportunities into long-term business.
  
Your territory
The patch covers Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and surrounding areas, including Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Lancaster, Morecambe, Burnley, Rochdale, Oldham, Stockport, Wilmslow and Clitheroe.
  
You will ideally live within the territory. Regular customer travel is required, alongside meetings and training at the Leeds head office. Overnight stays are occasional, and team meetings may be attended remotely where appropriate.
  
The role
  
As Business Development Executive, you will:

• Identify and win new business with commercial fleet operators, transport businesses and vehicle dealerships.
• Build relationships with Fleet Managers, Transport Managers and other key decision-makers.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable safety equipment, cameras, telematics and vehicle accessories.
• Manage opportunities from initial conversation through to quotation, negotiation and order.
• Re-engage lapsed customers and develop existing relationships.
• Maintain an organised pipeline, accurate CRM records and realistic forecasts.
• Work closely with sales, engineering and operations colleagues to deliver practical customer solutions.

You will receive guidance on target accounts and relevant contacts, alongside comprehensive product and technical training.
  
About you
  
The successful Business Development Executive will have a proven track record in B2B business development, field sales or consultative selling.
  
You will be proactive, commercially driven and confident creating opportunities, with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills. You will enjoy managing your own territory while contributing to a collaborative team.
  
Experience in HGVs, commercial vehicles, fleet, transport, logistics, automotive products or vehicle technology would be beneficial. Strong sales professionals from other relevant sectors will also be considered.
  
A full UK driving licence is required.

• Circa £40,000 basic salary and £75,000 OTE.
