Data Centre EngineerEmployment Type - PermanentShift Pattern: 24x7x365 (4 days on / 4 days off, 4 nights on / 4 nights off)Location: Manchester, UK Role Overview We''re recruiting on behalf of our global client for a site-based Data Centre Engineer to join a dedicated team delivering critical data centre services, Business-as-Usual (BAU) operations, and cabling infrastructure support for a prestigious international financial organisation in Manchester. Key ResponsibilitiesExecute day-to-day change control management, incident response, fault finding, and escalation in line with agreed SLAs.Perform Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC), racking, stacking, patching, and decommissioning of server and network hardware.Manage, track, and maintain accurate inventory records of all Data Centre assets and infrastructure documentation.Supervise and escort third-party vendors and external contractors on-site.Plan and implement IT hardware installations and structured cabling work adhering strictly to site standards and approved processes.Work closely with facilities providers to ensure governance, site maintenance, and maximum energy efficiency.Ensure full compliance with all Client and Support Services Health and Safety, Quality, and Data Centre Security procedures.Requirements EssentialProven hands-on experience in a similar Data Centre or high-risk operational environment.Sound knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, structured cabling, and networking concepts.Experience with basic ..... full job details .....
