Delivery Driver/Warehouse Operative

Our client is looking to recruit a Delivery Driver/Warehouse Operative to join their busy and friendly team in Aylesbury.
This is a varied role combining driving responsibilities and warehouse duties, with approximately 2 days per week spent making deliveries and collections and 3 days per week supporting warehouse operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customer deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time, while supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties
- Deliver products to customers using a Sprinter van or Long Wheel Base van.
- Complete local and regional deliveries efficiently and professionally.
- Carry out vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean and roadworthy condition.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely.
- Obtain proof of delivery where required.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently and communicate any issues or delays promptly.
Warehouse Duties
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
- Load and unload incoming deliveries.
- Move stock safely within the warehouse.
- Conduct stock checks and assist with inventory control.
- Receive, inspect and book goods into the warehouse.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health and safety.
- Assist with general warehouse operations as required.
Delivery Area
- No Central London driving required.
- Deliveries are primarily within the surrounding regions, including:
- Oxford
- Northampton
- Other customer locations as required
- Some deliveries may be outside the M25, but routes do not include Central London.
Candidate Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous van driving experience preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience would be advantageous.
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling duties.
- Able to load and unload heavier items safely and efficiently.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
