Programme Planner - Rectification & Capital Works

The Programme Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining and coordinating the integrated rectification programme, providing a single, accurate view of all workstreams, dependencies, milestones, risks and delivery priorities.

Working across a complex live operational estate, the Planner will bring together multiple programmes of work including fire safety, lifecycle, defects, capital projects, Schedule 38 obligations, operational activities and Trust-led projects.

The role will provide Project Managers, Workstream Leads and senior stakeholders with clear programme visibility, highlighting emerging risks, delays, interfaces and critical-path activities.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the Operations Manager
  • Provides planning support to Project Managers and Workstream Leads
  • Supports programme governance, progress reporting and delivery meetings
  • Works closely with CNH/Vercity, the Trust, Skanska, contractors and wider project teams

Programme Planning & Control

  • Develop, maintain and manage the integrated master programme
  • Consolidate individual project and workstream programmes into a single coordinated delivery plan
  • Integrate activities across

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate planning inputs across CNH/Vercity, the Trust, Skanska, contractors and individual project teams
  • Ensure all stakeholders are working from aligned and current programme information
  • Challenge programme assumptions and incomplete planning information where appropriate
  • Coordinate sequencing of works to minimise operational disruption and avoid clashes between workstreams
  • Support Project Managers and Workstream Leads in developing realistic delivery programmes
  • Maintain visibility of key interfaces between projects, contractors and operational requirements

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor actual progress against agreed programme milestones and deliverables
  • Track programme movement against approved baselines
  • Produce programme dashboards, progress reports and planning updates
  • Identify and communicate actual and forecast delays
  • Highlight emerging constraints, dependencies and potential delivery issues
  • Provide accurate programme information for governance and delivery meetings
  • Support senior stakeholders with clear visibility of programme status, priorities and areas requiring intervention

Programme Risk & Escalation

  • Identify programme risks, delays, conflicts and dependency issues
  • Assess the potential impact of programme changes on overall delivery
  • Identify activities at risk of impacting the critical path
  • Escalate significant programme risks and recovery requirements to the Operations Manager and relevant stakeholders
  • Support the development of mitigation, acceleration and recovery plans
  • Monitor agreed recovery actions and reflect these within the master programme

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is likely to have experience planning and coordinating complex programmes involving multiple concurrent projects and stakeholder groups.

Experience within healthcare, PFI/PPP, estates, facilities management, construction, infrastructure or complex operational environments would be particularly relevant.

Candidates should be comfortable working with Project Managers, contractors, FM providers and client-side stakeholders and be capable of translating multiple individual programmes into a clear, controlled master programme.

Strong experience using professional planning software, ideally Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, would be expected, alongside a good understanding of critical-path analysis, programme baselining, dependencies, forecasting and progress reporting.
